Found these at Colonial site today. Wondering what they are?

I guessing a saddle shield buckle and rosette. I’m not sure on the buckle several have been posted on Treasurenet before but none seemed to have a definite identification. I did noticed several were found on Mid 1700’s spots and that is spot on for where I am digging.

The round piece looks like a door bell.

I found a shield just like that near Lawrenceburg Tn.

I am pretty sure those shields have never bee definitively identified, but they are thought to be horse tack/bridle strap buckles. The other piece looks like an old horse bit boss.

Thanks the horse bit boss is right on 1710 to 1760’s. Now to figure the shield buckle.
