I returned to the edge of the cellar hole were I found the WW1 Dog tag Saturday.
I will have to go over this spot with a sifter, there is just no way to get under all that
junk. I literally was just digging random holes and sticking the shooter coil or the sunray down in them.
I did find a 1917 dog tax.

And when I went over the spot the WW1 dog tag was found, I got a similar signal.
There was the other one sitting just under the dirt. Glad I thought to recheck the hole.

This one does not say ST AILPORT, just AILPORT. I will have to look for that name as the other one was not coming up anywhere.

Saturdays post here http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,171336.0.html

did not find too much else, but still had fun.

Nice finds there, sounds like you have your work cut out for you in that spot.

That's gotta be a first, finding each type of dog tag in a day.

UPDATE: I did get in touch with an Ailport descendant on a genealogy website.
She said she did have a Levi Ailport who was a great uncle on her mothers side.
Unfortunately he had a different middle name. Back to the search I guess.
