Was that from crevicing & panning .... Or just panning... That is nice for around here ..

Its only from panning. I have been diging on the inside bends of a creek thats around the Arcade NY area. I try and stick to places where the gold would slow down on the inside bends. Gravel deposits and big boulders are my prime spots. Ive only been at this about 3 weeks now but Im catching on quick. I tried some crevesing but Im finding it easier to just dig down close to bedrock and pan it. Im waiting on my sluice and hopefully I get some better gold. But Im happy with what I got so far, especially in WNY. Cant wait to go in the AM Tomorrow! :)

Well here is my cleanup for the day. Pretty good day actually, spent about 3 hours the panning the inside bend of the creek in Arcade NY. Still think im missing out on a ton of good gold cause I dont have a sluice yet. Need to get one asap! I seen this one I want, called a fox trap sluice. 36" and its great in faster water. Has a huge retreval rate andyou dont need to really classify down your material. So you can move alot of material fast and hopefully get me better results then just panning. Next year buying a dredge and going to really take this NY gold and put it on the map. Its out there and its pretty much in every pan I work. Its actually pretty damn exciting, gold fever in WNY? :) 20130902_232352.jpg

Way to go! :)

really cool ,all the (EXPERTS) will tell you that what you are getting is displaced canadian gold, from the alibiti gold region of the canadian shield, but who knows, more than likely it is. its been my experience that glacial gold is hard fought, and not so easy, perhaps you may be in a terminal area that is draining through a morain, usualy just panning these areas produces just a (taste), you have been getting a appitizer, a little more time on the water with decent sluiceand you will be eating steak, lol. just a suggestion though, i would still classify.

Not sure about any gold rush in NY ever since the state retains claim to all gold and silver.......but what they do not know about they cannot take.

Great pickers there triboren. It doesn't matter where it came from- glacial deposits are still deposits of GOLD. From your short panning trips vs. recovery amounts- You have done excellent. That many pickers is more than I've seen in many other posts from known deposits, tailings. Congratulations !!! Virgin creek= virgin GOLD. Thanks for the rain diffuser answer by the way- appreciate it. HH yelnif

Thanks guys, yeah I havent seen anyone working this area at all. But I might soon since a few people aproched me yesterday wondering why some mad man was splashing around in the creek with a shovel lmao. Then they seen my findings abd were like NO WAY. So the wordwill prob get out soon. Until then Its just me out there. Thats of course any of you are local and want to meet up sometime. Gets kinda quiet out there sometimes wich is nic, but its always good to have someone to chat with and compare techniques and findings. Anyways im laying here in bed wondering if I should get my ass up, or take a day off. Lol... its addicting to say the least :)
