Hello and nice find. Would you mind posting a pic with a penny under the piece, hands come in all sizes. This may be a good start for us...lets start with what we can see and positively identify. For example; MANOS means - a stone used as the upper millstone for grinding foods. If you look at the ends of the item you'll see two points sticking out in perfect dimension on both sides. This could be where connectors were for a chain which would lean toward it being an ID bracelet.

I would suggest doing a rubbing of it and see if the name will show up.

There was a Lucretia Manos born in Connecticut c. 1934. She’s listed in the 1940 census as 'white’ and the daughter of Christos and Theotisty Manos, resident at 90 Broad Street, New London, Connecticut.

It could be a nameplate from a piece of luggage or something like that.

Wow I found it at ocean beach in new London..nice work my friend.. probably a bracelet she wore at beach at some point long time agin..
