Been doing a lot of research and have found the location of a pre civil war ghost town. Have yet to talk to the owner about it but my pastor knows him and says he was formally a pastor as well. The home in which he lives in (landowner) was the original school. I have a 1850's topo map showing the town and then an 1890 map with the town still on there but the 1920 topo doesn't show anything. Going by the railroad and creek bed on the 1890 map vs today topo map I was able to pinpoint right where it was at. Smack dab right in the middle of no where. This would be an amazing site to check out but I am a bit leary on asking the landowner for permission since it is such an elusive site and they are kinda strange down there. I figured I would let my pastor talk to him since they are friends and my pastor has known my family and I all my life it's easier for him to talk to his buddy about me than for me to explain who I am and how honest I am. Also found out today that there is a depot and stage coach stop on my property today. Talked to the landowners up the hill and they told me where the foundation to it is along with a wash area and cellar area. So if all goes well maybe today I can check that one out.

"Standing on a corner in Flagstaff Arizona , such a fine site to see"

Original Lyrics but Winslow Sounded Better. FWIW

Nice research Dalton....hope you get the ok.

Hope you get permission and hope you were the first to research it.Keep us posted

I got a NO from the landowner on the one I investigated but give it time and I'm sure I can talk him into it. My pastor told me yesterday that he told him "others have gone out there once, so I'm sure it all gone"... haha. We all know that if someone went out there once years ago and looked a few times there ain't no way in heck it's all gone. With today's technology and years of experience I have at places like that I would say my chances of finding something they missed is relatively good. On the positive note I still have the old stage coach stop and tat whole area to hunt till this gentleman changes his mind.
