Hi Forum
I'm looking for answers about this object, I think it is some kind of cleat from a boat but not sure. Has anyone else seen one like this before? I was collecting seaglass when I picked it up.

We really need something in the pictures to judge the size.

Does a magnet attract it?

The boat angle seems most likely. Welcome to tnet Tommy

Thanks guys, it doesn't attract a magnet but sounds metallic and looks very much like it's been cast, some kind of alloy. I've looked at dozens of images of sailing boat cleats and chandlery but nothing resembles this shape.

Are the fires on Gran Canaria effecting you? I looked bad on the news. Gary

Hey Gary
I am back in the UK now, I was in the mountains north island so all we saw were the helicopters and planes carrying water all week. Fortunately for us our vacation was not affected but it has been a growing problem for the past three weeks, lots of folks effected.

I hadn't thought about it being an anode, thanks for that tip AARC. I was looking at them recently too as I'm considering living on a narrowboat... funny how things come round.
