On Oct. 2, 2013, I found my first wheat penny at a park. Was so excited. Plus I was low crawling under an old bridge the same day and found a match box with one stamp and 10 pennies ranging from 1970's to 1990's in it. Pretty cool I think.

Awesome find! Still lookin' for my first wheat penny, so congrats on finding one! Oh, and HH!

Congrats on that find, I love wheats, now go get another and check that immediate area for silver, sometimes those coins are close by each other, low and slow, check it again.

Your first wheatie is indeed a milestone in the MD hobby. Congrats!

Congrats! I made a poem for this occasion:

Let us all remember our first humble wheat.
After a while these will cause us to stomp our feet.
Such a great find at first.
After years of metal detecting when I find one I almost feel cursed.
You're better than a Zincoln but you're still a stinkin Lincoln
I call this find getting wheated
20 years from now people will react as if they've found a seated!
