My husband & I headed back to the area which is supposed to be an old cabin site on my property. There had been one particular spot that had troubled me for some time as it had rocks embedded on the surface that didn't look quite natural. Some of the rocks didn't even look like the same type of rocks & since I've noticed no other place like this on the property, we ran the detector over it & got some beeps. After digging for quite some time, here is what we found:

Here is a close up of the ring:

Anyway, I'm pumped. I have a really bad cold & feel awful, but loaded up on aspirin & sudafed & went on out anyway. I'm glad I did :icon_thumright:

Congrats on your first - and Many More!

WooHoo! A ring!!! It looks old, I bet you're gonna turn up some good things from that site. Is that small blue piece glass? Like a bottle stopper or something? It looks cool...

enjoy the hunt because treasure is where you find it,

WTG!!!!:headbang: You have some awesome finds there, the first ring is always the most special, yours is cool, I love the blue glass, and are the nails square? Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see what you find next! Red

Yep..that small blue piece is blue glass & I too am thinking it must have been a bottle stopper, although the bottom that would go into the bottle looks to be broken off. The ring still has two "stones" in it, but I'm thinking they are probably glass. But it's a real keeper I think. Who knows who it belonged to; might have been one of my kinfolks!

I don't think the nails are square. They are really corroded, but I have found some that were not so corroded in this same area & they look like wire nails. I'm thinking this site dates to around 1900. My uncle & my father were told a cabin used to be there, and a cousin of mine remembers my great grandfather telling him about a cabin there too.

Congrads on your first ring ! Very nice . Great assortment of finds ....:icon_thumleft:
