Hey all,,,
It was too cold and windy to get out and detect, so I decided to get back down into the crawlspace of this old house.
Found my first real gold, a 14k gold chain at 7" inches long. I'm not sure if it's old, or not, but I know most of the stuff down there is pretty old. I also found another cork-top bottle. It's been painted with that old greenish/grey paint and measures about 4-1/2" x 1-3/4" x 1-1/8". Next was a little compact type item that reads, : Merry Gardens - Rigaud Paris - Perfumeur ", on the front, and still has the mirror in the backside. Last were the two marbles, the green, white, and clear one is the same size as a regular marble, but the other white one is much smaller... I still haven't found any coins, but with all the old stuff that's down there I'm sure if I do it will be an old one. still a lot of ground to cover under there, so it will keep me busy for quite awhile...
Hope ya all had some luck, & Happy hunting~

Thanks again all,,,
I figured it would be easier to explain using a pic, then I can throw the pic on my Website as well...
The house is a duplex and was built in 1912. This area was first settled by Czechoslovakian, and Polish immigrants. I'm thinking the finds may have mostly come from the original owners?, because of the early 1900's Czechoslovakian noise toy I found.
It's the orange thingy on it's side in the pic below:

The "Hot Spot" is where I have found all the items so far. There was an old wooden basket, and some kind of old chest, or wooden box with hinges against the inside wall on the north side of the house. Since I hadn't found anything in the sifted area against the north/west wall, the rest of my hunting was done there... The two front crawl areas measure about 13.5' x 13.5'...

As you can see by the pics, there is still a lot of area to be covered. Once, while doing some electrical work on the south side of the house I found an old tin windup toy all rusted up, so I'll hit that side of it also...

As I said earlier, I'll save this little project for the days I get bored, and it's too cold to get outside...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Very nice finds and a good idea. The white marble looks like the old chinese checkers marble.
The bottle looks like a linament or a Dr cure alls magic elixuir. Any embossing on it? WTG!!!

Hi,

Crawlspaces are a popular spot for catches and you find a gold chain... Hmmmm hint, hint..! Also like alwayslookin said a popular place for skunks and other creatures. We had a family in ours for weeks this last summer. Animal control would not come for them. You need a special animal control person. I am going to detect our crawl space too!

Keep @ it and HH!!
