Went back to the same pounded park I have been working at the last 2 weeks. It was tough sledding but I managed to squeeze out 2 more wheat pennies and my first IHP. It's an 1877 which also makes it my oldest dug coin to date. Unfortunately I also gauged it with my digger because it was on the edge of my hole. It's not silver but it was still exciting.

The Indian everyone wants but, most will never find. Nice recovery. I have learned to pinpoint very well and dig extra generous plugs on deep targets. Even with being careful we still jab a coin from time to time. Congrats on the first and rarest of ALL Indians.:headbang:

First Indian Cent!? Wow, what an entrance! Sucks that you nicked it, but it's still a really great find. The wounds will look less intense once they start to darken a bit. Congrats on a very rare dig.

The coveted 1877! Man that's great! So sorry you hit it with the digger, happens to all of us, I gouged a beautiful Seated Dime this past spring.

Congrats and HH
