It has been awhile and feels good to be on tnet again. I hope everyone has been doing well. Wanted to show a few pieces I found here and there. The crystal point I found a few months back. Have found flakes and broken pieces of the material but never a whole point. I think this one would fall under the Morrow Mountain type. IMG_1193.JPGIMG_1189.JPGIMG_1195.JPG

I sure do like that. seems like you cant find to many like that i guess because the uncooperative material.

That is a sharp looking point ! I like the one on the bottom left in the group photo too. Those concave sides give it a Decatur look to me, what is going on with the base of that one?

Hey red , its good to hear from you man. I am glad you mentioned that one. I was meaning to ask about it's type. The basal corners look like they where fractured but I read that basal fracturing occurs in kirks also. It is one that has had me stumped for awhile. I am not sure? Nice! Gotta know it was special to its maker too!

Chalcedony I think. Rare mix of quartz and silica. That would probably be strictly a ceremonial point.. a very very nice find!! Congratulations!!!

Hey Digiron2, thanks for the extra photos ! From what I can see, the base looks to be thinned, and I see no burin flaking, and probably little or no grinding. It looks like there might be a knick off one or both ears, or it could have been made that way? I think Kirk Corner Notched is probably where it fits, although not all Decataur's are burin flaked, and those two types probably overlap in the mid Atlantic area. It is a cool point whatever it's name. HH
