I found my first 2 Center today! It's an 1868. I was detecting a park after work for about an hour
and what a surprise. I need to start paying more attention to the penny VDI's, I hate to think
how many of these I may have passed up. I haven't cleaned it yet, (don't really know the best way) sorry about the pics, it looks
better in person.

Woooo-Hoooo! Happy Dancing for you in Snowy White Plains, New York! :hello2:

That is a very nice coin .

Very nice!! I'd keep it the way it is, looks great!!!

Congrats! It's in great shape too. It took a TON of hot peroxide to clean up mine, but it came out great.

Don't you DARE ignore penny signals! They can be Indians, Flying Eagles, old coppers! I LOVE when I get a penny hit :-) Wait, if you're hunting around me, ignore them all you want :laughing7:

I do need to change my style of hunting for sure. I get stuck on trying to find the silver and with limited hunting time I rush through too many spots and ignore the lower signals a bit after digging caps and tabs for a while. This site had Corona bottle caps everywhere that we're hitting in the upper 80's and driving me crazy! What in the world did they make those caps out of? They come out of the ground years later in perfect shape!

I hear you. I'm now digging foil signals, pull tab signals, etc., and most indeed are foil and pull tabs, but getting something good about 1/10 of the time, so definitely worth it! Wish I could say the same for nails.

Great coin! I thought I had seen them all, but I have never seen one of those.
I dig any signal nowand have gone back over some areas and I cant believe what I had missed.
