Found in the creek,what is it?

We walked down to the creek today and my grandson found this in the water. It is some kind of metal and a curved pick . he found it just like in my picture,(the clippers are for size).The metal wire is a little bit smaller than the fruit jar wire I have found they used long ago. Does anybody have any Ideals what it might be from,he is so excited. Thank you

I'd say silver or lead solder also...someone wound it up into a coil.
Done that myself with the end of a roll.

It even looks melted on the end. If you got an Oxy-Acetylene torch, try it. If its soft, its lead solder and will melt with a propane torch. Is is soft? If its stiff silver solder, you need the Ocy-Acetylene.
