I got out detecting Saturday. The fields are mostly frozen but I found a grass field that I could dig on.
The picture looks fuzzy because we were having a snow storm. Detected this field for just over an hour.
Made a few finds, coin from 1908 and an aluminum button.
Two lead musket balls, one with the sprue still attached and a lead seal from Prague Czech.
Woke up Sunday to a hard frozen tundra, supposed to get even colder so I think detecting is done till spring. Took my dogs
for a walk along our stream and I always check in and along the stream for gold nuggets, LOL, just in case. The stream has lots
of brick and porcelain in it. I walked out onto a small gravel island and was looking around and saw this round rock with a hole
in it, picked it up and knew it was a clay spindle whorl, treasure in my own stream! Obverse of the spindle whorl, it was
mostly blackened like most water finds are, cleaned it with a soft brush and water.
Reverse of the whorl. HH, Mike
