Found- Hernado Cortez

thanks oddrock, I hear ya. some people get really mad if you don't follow there rules and the kings rules,lol. that's why I post on this site. if they don't like what I post on my thread, then don't look. to bad for them, i hunt the way I want to, thats my rule. there are some that are trying to control people thoughts on treasure hunting. and putting out misinfo4mation,and sending people away from the cache site. i know, because they did it to me. but I found the truth. I posted some photo bait once I knew the truth, and sure enough, out of the goodness of there expert heart, they sent me away from the cache. I got there # for sure. I feel bad for the ones that its still being done to. I have seen photos that they showed the expert for help, and he did the same thing. instead of telling them they are there, he sent them off.i just wish people would share more of there photos.it seems I learn the most from them. yea, there out there, trying control the info.

shortstack,i don't know what rotten quartz is,or rose quartz, but I have found quartz with a red rose color or pink color in it.

Here's the description of rose quartz:

[h=3]Rose quartz[/h]
An elephant carved in rose quartz, 10 cm (4 inches) long

Rose quartz is a type of quartz which exhibits a pale pink to rose red hue. The color is usually considered as due to trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese, in the massive material. Some rose quartz contains microscopic rutile needles which produces an asterism in transmitted light. Recent X-ray diffraction studies suggest that the color is due to thin microscopic fibers of possibly dumortierite within the massive quartz.[SUP][10][/SUP]

In crystal form (rarely found) it is called pink quartz and its color is thought to be caused by trace amounts of phosphate or aluminium. The color in crystals is apparently photosensitive and subject to fading. The first crystals were found in a pegmatite found near Rumford, Maine, USA, but most crystals on the market come from Minas Gerais, Brazil.[SUP][11][/SUP]
Rose quartz is not popular as a gem – it is generally too clouded by impurities to be suitable for that purpose. Rose quartz is more often carved into figures such as people or hearts. Hearts are commonly found because rose quartz is pink and an affordable mineral.

Rotten quartz is quartz that is full of holes, cracks, veins, etc. that can be easy to bust apart, kinda like rotten wood. This is where wire gold has been found as well as nuggets, etc.

If the rose quartz you are finding is from trace amounts of titanium or manganese, you should keep in mind the possibility of deposits of rare earths. They could be very valuable, but, of course, the Spanish did not know about rare earths back then. They were looking for what was known THEN. Can mineral claims be filed on land in your area?? If so, just keep this in mind as you're tracing the trail.
