I think it's a shame it was destroyed.... but I didn't find it so I don't get a vote. It's your rock, do whatever you want with it, obviously.

I thought gold was primarily found in quartz?? I any case I am hoping the best for you. :icon_thumright:
That is quartz.....but its not always in quartz

So you crushed it? And I was hoping for some close-ups for the piccies look somewhat blurry.

WOW! Gratz on that find. Just shows that there is plenty of gold in AZ. There has been alot found and alot more to come. You can tell its gold by looking at it. pyrite looks more olive in color after being in weather conditions. That is nice and shiny. Not familiar with The bradshaws but if i were you i would hunt that place hard. Good luck on the assay and future finds.

Ok I'm lost...Is it real? Did it get broken up? What happened? :dontknow:

I do agree, there is a distint lack of replys to our questions. I always answer everyones questions & since I joined it probably at least 2000. Why are we keep in the dark about the simple facts :dontknow:

Dan,
Please be kind enough now that its on the Banner & people have voted it to reply to some of these questions. We know your not willing to share value (fine), but please fill in the other gaps?

Otherwise it would be like me posting a picture of an ancient object & ignoring the US questions I get on them.

I agree. I think some just like doing the secretive thing. Post just enough to interest people and refuse more info, even about harmless info.
Yes, understood that it is their prerogative, just an observation.

I know, I don't think we are being unreasonable like others have suggested. Its to be expected on a forum like this with like minded & interested people. To me it seems rude, like if someone asked you a question & you ignored them. I have no problem believe this, however, you feed those that don't with behaviour like this, sorry to harp on but I just don't get it :icon_scratch: :dontknow:

I agree Crusader, it is rude to post this then not reveal any details whatsoever. Why would you post it and then post a square picture so it makes the banner and ignore all the questions we have. I understand keeping some of it to yourself but not even a courteous "hey guys sorry but..." Crusader you have in fact answered every question I've asked so I know you are practicing what you preach. Thank you for that too because I enjoy learning about the things you find :icon_thumleft:

Dan posted a nice picture of the rock they found, he didn't campaign for the rock to make it on the banner, (which some have done for their finds) while it would be interesting to know how much gold was there, I personally can respect his right to keep that information confidential if he chooses, and do not think he is being rude by doing so at all.........

Dan posted the square picture at the request of the mods, it was the members who voted it on the banner, I do not think Dan is being rude by not revealing more information then he is comfortable giving....I do think it is wrong for people to say he is being rude by not giving out more information if he chooses not to.

I think everyone should post their finds from now on with as little info as possible and one square pic. That would make for a fun forum just as long as everyone knows it makes the detector scream.

Come now mister Crusader some of us like to have some good ole' hard money laying around just in case we run into hard times they's look to be hard times coming um-hum, yep, yes 'ree bob. Nothin wrong with that.

Nobody crushes valuable speccies. I believe this suggestion is some sort of a practical joke.

I think we should all be grateful that Dan posted his find at allā€¦
He didnā€™t have to do thatā€¦
Postings like his give us all hopeā€¦
And encourage us to get out there and go for the gold (literally)ā€¦

Please stop badgering the manā€¦Respect his decisions (and his partnerā€™s)ā€¦
When YOU find a 20 pound gold filled rock, then YOU can post it any way YOU want toā€¦

Thanks again Dan, for sharing your good fortune with all of usā€¦
