New member here and fairly new at metal detecting. after the hurricane I found a Connecticut copper. It is a 1787 coin. I just found it odd that a coin of that year would be in Florida(I think Florida was Spain's). Any body have any good ideas on how it would be on a beach in northern Florida Atlantic coast? 2016-10-8 21_2_0.jpeg2016-10-8 20_52_27.jpeg

Congratualtions on the old copper! :occasion14:

I love finding the old coppers; in our soil they are much more toasty then yours. :BangHead:

Thanks Professor I went back to the area and couldn't find any more :(

Wow, we have found a couple of those, but ours are in much worse shape! Congrats! That's a keeper for sure. -Lisa & John

WTG on the CT. That's a long way from home. Love my CT's!

Just goes to show you that the New England snowbirds have been escaping to Florida in the winter for a long time :laughing7:

Nice looking CT! Congrats.
