The fully plated ones have been around for years, the ones with just the head plated have popped up more recently. Newer technology I guess. Keep it as a novelty or just go ahead and spend it.

Its been electroplated post mint by a secondary company. It probably has about 5 cents worth of gold on it. They are sold in magazines for $10 to $25, either hold on to it, or sell it on ebay for a few bucks.
