Okay, Mastereagle22 and I (Baldingboy) hunted an old plantation site in Southeast Missouri where a slave shack was still standing. It was very rugged terrain and extremely hard to hunt and difficult soil to pinpoint in due to lots of iron etc. I did manage to find this thing right in front of the slave house.
I will follow with pictures, but here is a crude drawing I did in MS Paint. It seems to be ornate with three tabs on the back that are burred to hang on to something. It appears to have a large monogram in the middle that says maybe MCO or just MC (or CO). Has a patent date but it is hard to recognize. This appears to be copper or possibly brass...but I don't think so. Well....check out the sketch. This is between a nickel and Quarter size I believe.
