This piece is made of brass and is approx. 2" x 2" in diameter. Any thoughts on what its use was for? :dontknow:

My hunting partner 'pepperj' thought it might have been a decorative tread support for stairs? :icon_scratch:

Thanks,
Dave

PS. Sorry guys, let me clarify... I'm looking to ID the unusual triangular shaped piece pictured in the close-up.
I know what the other two pieces were used for.
Thx.

My guesses are that the round item is part of the mechanism that actives the internal parts in a old door lock, the item with the crown cut out looks like a strike plate or could be a keyhole to a lock, the other item might be an old heart shaped lock keyhole cover.

The rectangular item is definitely a key hole drop from an old padlock. Probably from the style of lock used by RRs quite often.
