TY for the post . !!

But don,t think that is it.

The 2 pieces don,t match together as you can see by looking at the backs.

That cannon is very nice tho.

It was suggested that they might be toys

Just seems kinda odd to be toys.

Can,t believe no one knows what they are ... maybe someone will find out.

I have no idea how to find out other than posting them here.

They look ancient. Were the vikings ever in nova scotia? I know that they used pewter and at least were known to have landed in newfoundland.

Not sure if they were here or not.... think there is evidence that they were in Cape Breton..thats the other end of Nova Scotia.

But doubt they woulda cut stones like those--fake or real.. i may be mistaken.

B ut agree--- they look very old

Either..

1. they are very old

2. they are modern made to look old

3. modern made in a place like the polynesian countries

Also--- i just tried to scratch a glass jar with one of the stones.... it did scratch with some pressure... not sure what that means--if anything.

I can only assume that the object has been in the saltwater a long time......if this is the case then if the stones are fake would they not be all scratched and cloudy from the mud/sand/rocks and all the wave action??

Most of them are very clean.

But i,m no expert ...just a fisherman who loves detecting.!!!

They both look like they may be the holder portion of an Amulet type Pendant! Hard to say what they may have held but maybe a Bear's Claw, a Tusk of an animal or sea dweller or other.

That would make sense as both pieces are from same set obviously...... found them about 12 feet apart... just looks so odd ---the patterns.

Will take it to a jeweller perhaps just for piece of mind on the what the material is for sure and what the stones are.

that looks like old pewter to me, i would say 1700's. I did think it had some kind of native design huntsman. But i didn't know they worked with pewter. But then again I am constantly finding myself ignorant to many things. But if whatever it was, was made by a indian, that would definatly bring the neat value up.

they are deffinetly old pewter i would say 1700's

If they were 1700s ..then what would the stones be ?

The pattern on them just doesn,t look North American.

They look like they are supposed to resemble baskets with a lid. I can't imagine a powder measure with diamonds
on it, but perhaps as already mentioned, a snuff spoon. I'm thinking if the diamonds are real, the spoon should be
gold. I really don't know what they are, but they sure are interesting.
