We did a lot of running today and got back late and I had a little time, so I swung out here in Grandmas yard. Have the 10x5” Coiltek on for the Nox800. Scanned a little in the yard digging solid mid tones. Found a piece of a horse shoe and a little pocket knife.
Ventured over to the hill and decided to scan the slope Good again. Out half way through the left side I got a nice 17/18. About 5 1/2” and out popped an 1876 Indian. I marked the spot with a stick stuck in the ground if You zoom in a bit. I really like finding Indian Head Pennies. Think this one is kind of a key date too. Thanks for looking and

sides of hills near the top is one of my favorite places to hunt. People sit on top with their legs up at an angle and things fall out of their pockets! πŸ˜ƒ

Digger. It cleaned up really nice. Mind me asking how you cleaned it. Gary

I thought so too! Thanks!!
I let it dry out, and toothpicked it, and wiped it off with My fingers to add a little finger oil plus getting the dirt off. Anytime I find Indians, or Buffs, I only toothpick them. I’ve had bad experiences trying to clean them any other way.

Nice recovery! I'm not sure about the 1876 date but the 1877 mint is a rare find for its low mintage if you ever recover one from that year...
Congratulations πŸ‘
