Not yet. Guess when I'm detecting my eyes are too focused on the ground. If this has happened to anyone I think I'll start paying more attention to the people around me.
However, racing picked up the slack. I won't even start to get into the "Road Trip" stories.

Free2Dtect--ya just gotta find the right woman. I have a hottie wife who is fine with detecting, so I have it all. No problems. Except for this damn snow in NY.

Actually just kidding. Married going on 20 yr. and she knew about the hobby going in. Plus the occasional jewelry I find helps. HA HA! Especially the platinum eternity band.

my ex-wife stood up in court at the divorce and said he is crazy, he went out and spent $1300.00 on a metal detector and now all he does is go out and hunt confederate treasure!! when he is not doing that all he does is read stupid books about the civil war. serious. my brother was working for me several years ago and we were working near an old abandoned farm. he left at lunch and said he was going over there to detect. he never came back. i got home and called him to raise %$#@ and he told me some long wild story. well i've been detecting before and told him he was crazy. sure enough on the 6 oclock news there he is. he had driven up to this place, got out, went to open the trunk to get detector and spotted a pair of feet. he walked over and there was this dude who had been shot once in the face and twice in the chest. needless to say he wasn't feeling very well. my bro called 911 on his cell. the sherrif got there and since my brothers car was there they made it part of the crime scene, not letting him leave for several hours......you never know

I found my wife 32 years ago in March, but I was not detecting at the time. If standing around in in a vacant lot in the dark with your detector in hand qualifies as a one night stand, I've had a couple. Spotz

I fell in love with a lady I encountered one day while detecting. She had flowing hair, a free spirit, and a draped bust. A draped bust...half dime that is.

Yes, I've had a love affair with her for years now.

I do so love the cent of a woman while detecting...you know, the princess wearing the feathered headpiece on the Indian Head penny.

I've got a buck out in the field a few times from Susan too. Susy B. Anthony buck, that is.

I've gotten a peace from lady luck, aka lady liberty too, when I found a peace dollar one time.

Yeah...me and the ladies have a little thing goin' on.

An attractive female that Treasure hunts, I really have to make sure I'm awake. I'm 26, I have been detecting since I was a kid, and I have to say Metal decting does not really attract the females like I had hoped...

Hey, that brings up a funny story.
When I bought my first detector, I took it to the beach. My girlfriend at the time said she was going to take a walk on the beach while I detected. When she came back, she asked me if I had found anything. I showed her a really nice gold ring with some diamonds and a large Tanzanite in the center. She just about died. Then I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. True story. SO I guess you could say I found my wife on the beach! 8) 8) (Yes, she did say yes). 8) She survived the period where I got "hunt crazy", and now she tolerates it (and sometimes I think she enjoys the time to herself). Seems like now, I am more mellow about going out hunting and so have not been given the old "You spend more time out hunting than you do with us", speech in a long time. I think now she enjoys seeing me happy and she also enjoys sharing in the spoils occasionally. But...my advice would be to try and find a woman who enjoys it as much as you do, or one that really enjoys her time alone (or with the kids), because it's no fun getting hassled over doing something you like to do. I finally just said "Look, this is something I really enjoy doing, it gets me out of the house and exercising, and it's fun and you better get used to it because I don't plan on quitting". Somehow that was where I drew the line and somehow after that we have matured to a point where she can accept this is something that really adds value to my life. 8)

No-NO-& NO I'm looking for coins when out in the fields. Last thing I need is some women walking up behind me and saying, 'hey I really like that tool pouch - it just plumb turns me on!'. LOL

Fun question! I told my significant other, future wife, metal detecting is alot cheaper than a psychiatrist. It helps keep me sane. She's fine with it but keeps asking when I'll find a diamond ring!!!
