Had a very good hunt today, one of my better days in awhile now.Found my second VA button for this year ,this one is a staff officers which is a first for me.The shank is still there and I might be a able to make out a little of the backmark but the face has seen it's better days.Put me in the ground that long and I probably wouldn't come up looking too pretty either:laughing7:Also found a couple flower buttons one coat and one cuff. They probably came off of Confederate coats also ,weren't to far from the vA button. Also got a brass ring and a 18th century pewter spoon and a few other odds and end.I had a really good hunt today, wish they could all be as fun.Have a good week everyone-HH 015.JPG017.JPG002.JPG035.JPG055.JPG053.JPG036.JPG039.JPG063.JPG065.JPG060.JPG058.JPGOh yeah,I almost forgot to post my little buddy, she watches over the place for me when im not there,I bring here a bologna and cheese sandwitch every time I visit just to say hey incase she ever gets out that kennel,lol033.JPG

thanks, yeah this place has allot of history relic,I am very fortunate to be able to hunt it.It has been hunted before pretty hard in the past but it is a big place, make me wonder what all was found there?

This is the other VA I found at this same sight at the beginning of this year,it is a very early one piece, from what I gather it is the earliest V.A. button there is.001.JPG002.JPG

Wow DI2. That is one great button:icon_thumright: you must be excited!

Thanks Old dude,I am still smiling over it.Them Confederate buttons just don't come along every day for me.I am excited, can't wait to get back to it.

you got some really nice finds there! One, I am interested in particular, in the photo where you are holding the ring, you have a small brass pc. in the same hand. Do you know what it is? I found one just like it! Congrats on the finds. HH

I am not sure what it is,this one looks like it was broke off something?

Nice hunt DI2. Sweet VA button there. The item to the left is a late 18th/early19th lock. We call them Mickey Mouse locks because of the two ears.

Hey Joe; Here's the pic of the one I found, and thanks for the ID Steve! now I can refile the pc. and label it correctly in my records. I love this place..
