Wow that is cool and frightening at the same time.

It may be rare, if you look through the documents the case was US vs 6 Devices

Any patent numbers? What happens when you plug it in?

and put it on your head? Maybe you'll gain insight and be able to answer the question. ;D

I love the description in the Mislabeling decree of condemnation.

http://archive.nlm.nih.gov/fdanj/bitstream/123456789/15988/3/206000500.txt

The product was a cap-shaped metal shell,
containing insulated wire. When connected to a source of electric current,
it produced heat and Vv-as surrounded by a magnetic field.
NATURE OF CHARGE: Misbranding, Section 502 (a), the label statement "Health
Applicator" was false and misleading since the product would not maintain
the health of the healthy or restore the health of the unhealthy

DISPOSITION : December 6, 1946. No claimant having appeared, judgment of
condemnation was entered and the product was ordered delivered to the Food
and Drug Administration.

The problem here is that its so rare it may have no value. Example: Antique Coca Cola items have value but who cares about a drink that didnt come to market. Maybe it has value to someone. :dontknow: There are collectors of unusual patents but you need to find the patent number.. It may sell on eBay because it is interesting.

That is so cool. I know there are one or two museums of fake medical devices around. I imagine they might be interested in it.

This is very cool!
Judging by the (bacelite I think) plug and switch this is pre-WW2 for sure.

Quack medical devices are pretty cool and there are collectors out there, as to what it's worth? Honestly probably not a lot, it would depend on you finding a collector who just had to have it.
