I detected the property of an 1869 one-room schoolhouse for 3hrs today. I’m not surprised that there wasn’t much left to find as I’m sure this property has seen a lot of changes over the years, but I did walk away with a couple of keepers. My first decent find was a crusty large cent; I can just make out the date of 1916 under all the crud. My next find almost caused my heart to skip a beat as I turned over a plug to reveal the edge of what looked to be a very large silver coin! I decided that I didn’t want to rub it to see what it was so I headed back to my truck and carefully poured some water on it. This is when I saw the date was 1981, missed it being silver by only 15 years! My next interesting finds were the old brass horse buckle and the large iron ring. I sure have found a lot of buckles this year!
Thanks for looking and best of luck to you all,
Dave
