Found a pin pointer and a possible diamond ring

Was able to get out between rain storms... did not disappoint!!

Went to a park I had not had much success with last year. Upon getting out of the car, I dug a 92 signal on the AT Pro. It was a stacked Susan B Anthony and a George Washington Dollar. Unfortunately my joy was destroyed by the sight of 24 or so very poorly dug holes by some wannabe detectorists. I spent the next 2 hours refilling them the best I could and watering the grass. While doing so, I decided to check the holes. I went one way and my 4 year old son went the other direction with my pin pointer... unbeknownst by me. I was finding trash and small coinage at the bottom of the holes. I also spotted a nifty water bottle by a tree!




I heard my son yell saying he found a signal with the "carrot". I helped him. It was a quarter. I continued on and 20 minutes later, I heard him yell about a hole he found and some beeping. I went to investigate and helped dig. I was flabbergasted by what was in it! A pinpointer! I still don't understand leaving a tool behind let alone in the hole.




Later I went to a junior high. I found the usual loose clad. To top off the day I found this guy... It passes the fog test and reflects white inside the stone and rainbow on the outside. I know Diamond isn't usually in silver but I've been seeing more and more people buy this stuff. Who knows... at the very least I'm pretty sure it's a silver ring. We will see when we take it to a jeweler.

There was a few times I reached into my bag and my pin-pointer wasn't there. Luckily I was able to retrace my steps and find it.
I found a nice digging tool once that someone left behind.
Great find and beautiful ring.

I've lost one of those carrots before It was autumn and all the leaves were falling and the orange color blended right in. Any chance you're in portland, oregon and found mine?

Hunter, I don't think you said for sure if the Orange Pinpointer was a Garrett? I've seen a lot of the knockoffs trying to imitate it. If it's the Garrett, that's a nice find!

Lol, well I've never buried my pinpointer, but I did leave one at our local fairgrounds and never seen it again. I've dropped my pinpointer numerous times and had to backtrack to find it. I also left it at a homesite in the woods at one point, a week later was gearing up to head into the woods to another homesite and realized it was gone. Fortunately was only a mile or two from the other site and went back and retrieved it. A week in the woods, turned on, and was still working and the batteries were still good. Crap like that's why I don't take a camera along.
