Found a loaded gun today

Went out for a quick hunt and nailed a first for me...an Olympic 38, 8 blank shot revolver! 6out of 8 were fired, with 2 live ones in the chamber. Worked hard to get it cleaned up, and back to semi-functioning order. Anyone have an idea of age. Made in Italy.

Blank Gun.......

It fires primers. They appear to be 209's. The 209 was originally used for shotguns but now very popular in muzzle loaders. It is MUCH more powerful than the old #11 primers that used to be used in the modern era muzzle loaders. They are generally waterproof as well. Did not realize that blank gun was made that just fired the primers vs blanks. The huge gap between the cylinder and the barrel confirm it was never meant to fire a projectile (bullet).

Looks like they had a few misfires, and chucked it out of anger..nice find though

Yup! I agree. Definitely tossed cuz it's junk.
