Dodged a hailstorm moving through the area to hunt a park where I pulled an 1898 IHP a few weeks ago. Today's hunt did not disappoint, with a nice variety of finds spanning both age and type. The very first target was a 1942 Washington quarter, (an ugly one, but silver is silver). Next came two buttons -- a tiny one-piece flat button with minimal decoration on the reverse and a "LONDON" backmark (not sure if there were other words that have worn away, or if London is all), and a two-piece US Army enlisted man's eagle button with the "HORSTMANN PHILADELPHIA" backmark (post-1902). I was happy that both buttons had their shanks intact. As I was getting ready to wrap up, I hit another piece of silver, this time a sterling Greek Orthodox religious medallion. Finally, on the way back to the car, the last target was a 1951D wheatie. Nothing crazy, but this was a fun hunt for the variety of it, and I'm always happy to go home with two pieces of silver! Thanks for looking!
