Found a Key Date '21D Merc Today..

Hello Everyone,

I met up with Jon(GoldenApples) and Curt (Bibleman) at a park today that I have never been to before. It was a very good day for me. I got two firsts in mercury dimes.....can't believe I haven't found a '16 this year until today. I checked the back, no D. Oh well, it's still a wilver!! My other merc did have a D mintmark. It's a 1921. My first ever. I finished the day with a '44 merc, along with 13 wheaties. We were asked today to not dig holes at the park by a patrol guy in a little 4 wheeler. He said we could continue to use our metal detectors at the park, but we couldn't dig holes....Hahahahaa....now what good is that?? Jon, hope you're able to make plugs in the park again. I think there's still old wilver there. Maybe talk to the park ranger that Curt told us about.

Sweet! To bad you got shut off . I was told something similar, I cold even dig holes, but I could not REMOVE anything . On to bigger and better things, at least you got a good haul while you were there. Great job!

Good digs Dan. I had my best site that I've hunted for 30 years and that I still as of the last hunt can pull silver out of...CLOSED to any more hunting. I started hunting with my dad there when I was 14...then I continued to hunt there with my daughter as I raised her. She's now in college and I still hunted there until about 3 months ago. Some moron left a bunch of unfilled holes I noticed as I was hunting so I filled many of them in. The next thing I know some goof walks out to me and says "they don't want you diggin' holes no more".
I said I had been hunting there for 30 years so what was the problem. He then told me I would have to call the person in charge and talk to them. Anyway I left without causing any problem. I really wanted to slap the cheesy little mustache off his face...but I am an adult so I knew better.
I called the person in charge and he said he knew I didn't leave the messy holes but that the board had decided to shut it down to everyone. All because of some moron not filling in his holes and ruining it for everyone. I was crushed as that site was a very big part of my life. My dad taught me to drive there...and many years later I taught my daughter to ride her bicycle there. About 25% to 33% of ALL my silver finds in the last 30 years came from there. Oh well....sorry to ramble and congrats on the 21D.

Captn,

You always pull out wilver in areas that have been hunted. You would find wilver in areas where wilver shouldn't be, such as the moon.

You are the true powerhouse on this site. I don't think anyone could compete at your level. I am being humble enough to state, "You would beat me in a competition."

Awesome 21-D...too bad the dude had to tell you that. What are you going to do? Use a probe? That would suck...decking wilvers.

Hmmmmm...did you do the "grunting and pump-up" ritual? LOL

Another good day for the Capt I see. Go talk to the guy in charge and ask him. You might have just talked to someone on a power trip. I hunt an old park and TWO times some mower guy or garbage can cleaner has come by and told me I can hunt the park. Strange, since the director of parks says theres no problem! MAHAHAHA!

Way to go on the silver! It's a shame that so few are ruining it for all. I say Kill em all, let god sort em out, and hopefully bury them in one of the holes they dug.

I got kicked out of a park (by a guy with a mustache) too. I went back six months later and "no mustache" no problem.

I found this guy digging like a mad man on his hands and knees in the turf....I just had to do something to stop him..... Actually, it was a gopher hole. That's one of my buds from our CA forum. He just stopped by to say hi that day. That was a great memory!!
