I decided to drive up to southeast Georgia today to look around at an 1820 to 1840 era fort today. I haven’t been there in many years but I just felt I needed a change. I was very happy to find that part of the fort area was being cleared. I found a lot of period glass and China on top of the ground. It’s been raining in our area almost everyday. I found this 54 caliber round ball and some modern trash. Just as I was getting ready to call it a day I found this early artillery coat button. I was super happy as I’ve only found a couple in the past and both were cuff sized. Anyway thanks for looking and happy hunting to all!

Way to go...was worth the travel to get to it. Bet there is more to be found with it being cleared for you. Wasn't that a convenient set of circumstances and a welcome site, better get back there:thumbsup:
