Got out for a bit today, been waiting for the snow to go away and for the ground to thaw a bit here in south central pa.

Went back to the farm that we have been working at for a little bit now. Big place with 4 colonial homesites on it, 2 still being lived in and 2 lost to the past. So far we have dug around 13 coppers of various varieties, American and brittish, and the silver trime I found today. 3 of the sites had been detected before, very thoroughly I mite add. And one that I believe was never found until we found it.

That is where the coins came from today, plus my buddy found 2 coppers there today also. The silver pocket watch frame and buttons came from a different field. 1817 large cent in very good condition, a 1828 half cent thats not too awefull, and my favorite for the day, a 1852 trime, always thought it wud be cool to find a trime, but it seems they very rarely come out of the ground. I'm really liking the deus 2, seems to not miss much.

Good job. You know it’s a good day when an intact eagle button doesn’t make the list of “best finds of the day”.
You are right, I forgot to mention the eagle button. These are one of my favorite things to find. This particular field has given up probably a half dozen eagle buttons, and probably that many dropped 3 ringers and a Gardner bullet. I found a flying eagle cent in the middle of where I found the buttons, I like to think it was dropped at the same time, but who knows. I believe I read that there was a camp there for a few days.

Now that's what you call one heck of a killer hunt - congrats on the great finds ! :hello2:

SOME GREAT FINDS Congratulations

You had youself a really great hunt. That LC is in awesome condition. Congrats on all your finds...and especially the trime. They are so, so small its amazing to me that they are ever found.
