Hello all,

This might be a tough one. Coin appears to have been beat on and the edge mangled. The only letters I can make out on it are the G and R under some symbols. In it's current state, it is slightly larger than a quarter. Who knows what the original size would have been.

I think it may be silver, but probably not 90%. It didn't come out of the ground clean like a usual 90% silver.

The only thing I can make out on the other side is a bust facing left. Kind of hard to see in the pics, but it's there.

Don't know if it helps, but the weight is 10.55 grams.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

united_kingdom-20-pence-1983.jpg Reminds me of the British 20 pence. It has to be some sort of British coin. I'll try to find it.

Dang you guys are good! I actually did do some googling before posting but didn't find it.

Wow my coin is beat to hell. :laughing7:

Not as old as I was hoping, but at least it's 50% silver.

Thanks again for the help!

Well done! 🙌 That's not beat to hell...that's "character"! 😁

Am I seeing things or is this a button made of two coins soldered together? I see an area where the shank may have been soldered on. Very cool relic. Sub 8-)

Hi BR,
The coin is from Geo VI reign not 1980s, I am a Brit and do not recognize this coin, but it does depict the King more investigation required...Bonz

OK BR,
It is a British florin (two shillings) and has a silver content, look for Geo VI florins.....Bonz

DAMN WHAT A COOL FIND
