Found a "Blob" of Platinum on the beach??

I just posted this in TODAYS FINDS as well, because i just found it lol, but tell me what you guys think......

Ok I was at the beach and i was up by the dunes almost, And i got a beep, when i looked down, i thought wow, thats a first, Since living in Cocoa Beach since 1983, I have never found a sharks tooth at the beach. I mean you can go down to the river, and find them all day long, i used to as a kid. but never found one at the beach, so i picked it up and was sifting the dirt where i had my beep. and i pull this odd thing out of the sand, it wasnt but maybe an inch below the sand, and i have no idea still what it is. I took it to a friend who has a jewelry store, and had it tested, and it came up as platinum. I thought ok cool, but what the hell is it! I have already done what most of you are thinking, and i have checked it over with a fine tooth comb, there are no markings, there are no letters, there are no engravings, there is nothing! Its not even a piece of jewelry that has been bent up! its just a damn blob of platinum! So any ideas what i found?!!

I'm like Jim; a little too small to be a ring. And a "puzzle ring" made of platinum? I'm afraid that whatever it "was" it's not that anymore.

Puzzle rings are made of gold, silver, and platinum as well. It could be part of one. I dont know what the Challenger was made of... Titanium probably. Without good pictures we are only guessing.

I agree...there's really no telling what a "blob" used to be. Myself, I'd have something made of it regardless of what it was...a nugget, for example.

Not in Florida. No way.

It doesnt look like a "blob" to me. It looks like a very blurry scan of a twisted piece of jewelry link or a small piece of a Puzzle ring, recently lost on the beach.

Could be a bangle from an earring or bracelet too. There are puzzle earrings, but that looks too small.
To find out what metal it is, you'll probably have to weigh it and do a density test.

Hey guys, I couldnt get a camera. so I tried to update these pics for ya..... As you can see the blob isnt in any better color etc. Also Here is the Sharks tooth I found in the basket with the blob. It wasnt high up on the dunes, It was like mid beach, and yes the beach had just been replenished, all the paving etc. Also too here is a pic of the ring that i never got to post the pic of (not a good pic... Working on it) I found this ring a couple days before, it has a canary yellow diamond (had it tested) and my mom likes to wear it alot. the pics arent any better but i thought i would just try to answer questions and fill you in with what i thought would be good pics, they didnt turn out so great. So forgive me.

I do want to make this clear, It is NOT a twisted up piece of a ring, nor is it from a puzzle ring, I have worked in jewelry a few years, and i know what is what, I do appreciate the advice, but guys... its not a ring. and it does not have one single word, etching, engraving etc. It is simply just a little tiny piece of what appears to have been melted metal and is made of platinum. Trust me, i thought ring too, and even puzzle ring, but no go on that.
I like the challenger theory, lol one time i went to a restricted area at the beach by playlinda beach and it said no metal detectors, but it was when i first started and the MD bug had bitten me, so i went anyways, it was about 1/2 mile from the launch pad it seems. and man the huge piece of debris, and metal buried in that beach was crazy. some things were so big i couldnt even pull them out of the ground, nor could i dig deep enough. it was everywhere. so i called it a day after i found a dime lol. I felt guilty for going out there once, but the curiosity was killing me. but that was a time ago, and i dont do anything without permission first now.

Anyways, Im working on better pics i promise, and i appreciate the help from you guys. thanks so much, and sorry my 3rd set isnt any better pics than expected. Thanks again guys.

I don't know, but I would expect it to have fuel cells, and I would expect them to contain platinum.
