Worn with no date visible.....but my 1st Seated for 2013. Found at an Old home site in Decatur County Georgia.
It was at an unbelievable 3 inches deep. Have not cleaned it.....but found it with the obverse facing down, and the eagle was the first thing I saw.....my hunting buddy, John, found a nice condition 1920 Mercury dime, a 1892 Indian, and several wheat cents at the same site......It WAS a good Day for ALL!!

P.S. I was able to date the Seated Quarter 1840-1865, because it did not have the motto above the Eagle on the reverse, and it has the draped elbow on the obverse.

Happy Hunting!!

great find even well worn.its seeing finds like that keep you going still looking for my first seated quarter.congrats

even worn nearly smooth, that is an awesome find. I'd take that any day :icon_thumright:

Super nice silver! Friendly advice from one THer to another - Don't rub the dirt off your silvers in the field. It puts really fine scratches across the surfaces. Leave the dirt on em, and use water to remove the caked dirt. No scratches! Or bring a water bottle into the field with you for field cleaning/identification.

Great quarter. I have not found seated .25 yet!
