Found 1839 Half Dollar

Clearing out some boxes in an old house I found this 1839 coin. I’ve never found anything even close to this old so pretty excited. Can anyone give me information on the coin?

Just for future reference ( I wish, LOL), it looks to me like the word LIBERTY is stamped into the headband in on one coin and raised along with the edges of the headband in the other. Since no one mentioned that, I am curious if this is two legitimate variations US mint produced coin, or another indication of being a counterfeited coin?
