Found this Rock sticking out of the ground at the end of our field, in Montana? Fossilized ripples I’m told.

How in the heck does it get here?

This is what I found by asking if Montana was ever underwater.
When was Montana covered by ocean?

144 to 65 million years ago

During much of the Cretaceous Period (144 to 65 million years ago) a large portion of Montana was covered by the waters of a shallow, inland sea called the Western Interior Seaway.
