January 2017 - It was on a Friday when I decided to go detecting with my younger brother out in the forest near a parched pond where there was a wooden shed that had been abandoned. It was sunset when we began the trip. There was no shed when we got there via natural trail, but we proceeded on doing so. We dug up a few .30-06 and .22 shell casings on the sheds proposed spot but there was not much else to find there. We then walk to where there were shot up pull-tab soda cans leading to a natural opening in the forest behind them. In that opening there was a completely rusted folding chair leaning on a tree trunk. Using the detector around that tree covered spot, I dig this up.

It was in the shape of a helmet that was colored green with a considerable amount of rust with hole damage all over it. I assumed it is a 20th century M1 helmet. If i’m wrong please feel free to let me know what it is exactly via comment :tongue3:. Pics V

My first thought was that it's a headlight bucket out of an old car.
