For nickel hunters - all 1990's Jeff, PD&S in a single roll!!!
Had a very weird and good find today. Found a nickel CWR that had 14 proofs that are fresh out of the case and for each proof there was a BU P & D nickel to go with it. Very strange but not at all confusing what happened. Basically I hunted 2 boxes worth of pennies, nickels, dimes and halves today to go along with about $150 in quarters. Results below.
Halves - 3 40%ers, nothing too exciting
Quarters - 1945 Washington, my oldest quarter find to date
Dimes - 1948-S, 1957-D, 1959-D, 1960D & 1964D. The 1960D is in great shape.
Nickels - Nice 1937 and 1937D. Found a 1946-S with 6 steps (not full) visible. Also found 1941-S, 1948-S, 1953-S and 1954-S. Found 2 1942-D's, both in really worn condition.
In 1 single roll I found 1980D, 1981S, 1988S&D, 1990S&P and 1991-2000PD&S. All of those just listed are straight from proof or mint sets. The roll also had a circulated 2011-P and a beat 1964-D. Ironically the beat 64D was the ender. I found 3 or 4 other identical rolls from the pick-up but they were all standard CWR's.
Pennies - Along with the nickel roll above I found 10 penny CWR's that were labeled '81 and earlier'. They were as advertised, but not a single wheatie in the lot. Overall I found 12 wheats, no remarkable dates.
This nickel find is my 2nd coolest find. 2 years ago I picked up $32 worth of CWR nickels and found 172 Buffalo's including semi-key dates, 4 V nickels, Canadian nickels from the 1930's, proof Canadian and US nickels plus multiples of every non-silver pre-64 Jeff except 1939-D and 1950-D.
I've only hunted $10,500 in nickels. To date I had found 13 proofs. In this one roll I found 14.
Thanks for looking.
