Haha I like that saying, no have yet to take the flakes off also have another piece of what was really brittle rock with flakes of the stuff in it.
So best way is to find a way to crush it and take the flakes aside weigh them? Is there a actual possibliity it's gold?

They are excavating for new water pipes and such there is a river about a half Mille from where I am now this from the lowest of the excavation on my property, no mountains or anything like that too close from here though they did find Woolley mammoth remains not to far from here what we were originally looking for and arrowheads where there is beast there is predator.

The other rock found with what looks to be flakes of golf but a completely different type of rock
The one above the whole outside was a hard quartz this picture h re the rock basically crumbled in my hand

Been reading likely around mountains or eruptions no volcanos have been found anywhere near where I am by thousands of miles I'm in southern Ontario canada
