I love this ebony and silver crucifix, maybe it was made during XVIII century.

It was founded in a for sale antiques table.

If you have information or comments about it, just share with us.

My best wishes to all

Have you looked over the silver parts for any type of marks stamped in it.? They could be very tiny and covered with dirt, looking like a little dimple in the silver.

Hi Tamrock,

I have not take a look on it, but I will do, and I will let you know if any mark.

Thanks for the advice.

Nice piece!

It's French probably Napolean III era or a little later. 1840 - 1880?

The wood is ebonized and like most of these it's missing it's finials from the end caps as well as the bottom finial is missing entirely.

It is silver. Probably .800 but these were produced in .950 as well. Later examples are finished in nickle. These were being produced up until the 1960's and perhaps later.

Here's a link to a more intact example from the same period although this one is missing the horizontal finials also.

Really cool 😎 my most favorite thing to find is religious items. I've found a few over the years 😉

Would you show some of your religious items?

Congrats on having them
I like the first one the best. It's 10k and about the size of a 50 cent piece. It's white, yellow, and rose gold and has Jesus holding the sacred heart and the back has our lady of guadalupe. I found it in New Mexico. All the others are mostly silver. I have a lot more but they aren't precious metals but I still like them. Eventually when I move to a house I'll make a display for all of them. 😉
