50 deg. this morning high water strong current and to much dead mermaid hair(grass),carping has to wait now.Did see Mr. Beaver swimming up river and close enough to spit on.There was a guy up in Minn. that tried to take a pic of one and got a little to close,it bit Him severing His femoral artery..He bled out.So I am a bit cautious getting closer now.

Beaver are generally pretty mellow creatures, but, if you
corner one it's going to fight.

If on land, keep your distance and don't get so close
the beaver feels threatened. Do that and you should be
able to get plenty of pics.

On land they are slow, but once they hit the water it's the
"flight" response. They'll smack that tail and leave you in
a heartbeat.

Never been a big carp fan, but they will give ya a battle
on light tackle.

I fear nothing respect yes fear NO. I've been watching them for 5 years now in the Connecticut River and Agawam River.I started carp fishing 2 years ago,I use a 9' rod and they give you a battle on it too they never give up fighting,a 25 pounder and you got your hands full, I see more times than not they head down river and toward shore then head up river, bring them toward shallower water and they go berserk.I don't fish for anything else.:laughing7:

Interesting story. Nice photos. Thanks for sharing.

A very nice place to relax! :occasion14:

Sheesh almost all outdoor fun is now awaiting spring

I haven't gone fishing in years I miss.it

I'm just getting started down here chris....I start fishing tomorrow. Wooo hooo !! Its been a long stretch of no fishing for me .

I once stood on a small rock ledge just above the water and a huge beaver swam out right under my feet. He turned over on his back facing me and just menacingly floated there with no fear. I don't have pics to prove it but I swear he was flipping me off.

Gotta be a pond or lake that freezes up,need to invest in some tip-ups and an auger! :icon_thumright:
