Fisher warranty

From several post on here I was under the impression that fishers 5 year warranty on detectors was just that...A five year warranty. But as I found out today that its only covered as long as the person who bought it new, owns it. I knew that tesoro's lifetime wasnt transferrable (Understandibly), but didnt know about the other warranties. Are all the detector companies the same in this respect...Thanx Barry

It's a 5 year "limited" warranty. It's a FTP warranty (Fisher, Bounty Hunter, Teknetics).

Even as a used detector, I'd call FTP first if it needs something technical performed. They have always been fair on problems that stemmed from their side, a recall type thing, if you will.

Tesoro does have a great warranty. But how many LCD screens and digital electronics do they need to fix?

First Texas only honors warranty to original buyer with Bill of sale. They no longer issue warranty cards as I discovered when I spoke to them 2 weeks ago about my CZ-21's warranty.

Well at almost $1000 for my F75 LTD2 I think I will be keeping mine at least 5 years LOL!
