Slowly gearing up for some serious fishing !! Coming in September ill be pushing team "Lightin up" to get back to the islands. Hopefully we will take the 55 viking to San Salvador and the out islands in pursuit of a world record wahoo. Ill be targeting big blues also....even if its not spawning season, I should have shots at some good marlin. We will fish the falling tides everyday in pursuit of 150+ wahoo!! Really trying to get the boss back to our old style of fishing. Heres a video of what its like to actually tangle with the big boys. 600+ pounder on 50# test in under 8 minutes. I was caught off guard, and the fish stayed on top....she ran me around 3 times before we subdued her !!

I havnt fished in 2 months.....at least on a professional level. I've been varnishing and waxing, and painting and replacing broken equipment at work. On my off time I've been sailing, lobstering, fishing with my son, kayaking with the family, and filming a treasure episode of brave wilderness with coyote Peterson !! Also been hunting in the water.

winner winner chicken dinner....my boy took first place in the ultra competitive 8-10 year old category, at the 25th annual Kids fishing derby.....this is serious stuff for the fishing families down here, and big community bragging rights if your kid wins !! The kids that compete here are the whos who of professional keys fishing families !! All these kids have been raised on the water and many will go on to professional fishing careers in the future. If your from the keys its perfectly normal to pursue a fishing career and this is one of the best places on the planet to do it. Lots of pats on the back and handshakes from all the other dads in the fishing community here !! A big day for the boy....woooo hoooo !!

Haven't had any hits for 10 days,I saw this head someone cut off and thought it was the only pic I would get,looked over at my rod and it was bent over and the drag was screaming,finally got one,20#+.Carping hasn't been very productive the last couple months.
