With a lot of people staying home or limiting their travel and the cool weather we have been having, the swimming areas have not seen a lot of use. The targets were much lower in number than usual, but I got lucky and did find a few winners.

I spent 3.5 hours with my ATPRO in a park swimming area. I like to be sure I don’t miss any goodies so I keep it set in PRO ZERO mode with Iron Audio ON, iron Discrimination at 30 and Sensitivity 2 down from full. I only managed to find 3 coins, a penny a dime and a nickel, a No Cash Value token, 7 earrings (including a pair), an earring back, 2 rings (1 thin stainless and 1 plated copper), 5 small split shot sinkers, a modern button, a large sequin, 2 whatzits, and of course small bits of foil that sound just like a small gold earring. The best find was an eyeball find. As I’m swingin along I always keep my eyes open and I noticed some odd colored paper on the bottom in the sand. I scooped it up and wahoo a twenty and a ten. Usually it is a 1 or a 5 but this did happen once before about 10 years ago in a different swimming hole, but the ten and twenty were about 8 feet apart. This time they were folded together. You have to love those people who leave goodies in their pockets when they go in the water.

One earring was silver marked STERL with a deteriorated stone and a second light 14k gold with 3 small square czs.

I have no idea what these are. I have found these things before when water detecting. Anybody have any idea what they are?

So a good start for water detecting this year. Number 9 silver and first gold for my new year that started on May 1, a few coins and a nice cash bonus. Thanks for looking, keep your eyes open, stay safe and may your coil lead you to good things.

$30 eyeball find. Seems about right. It’s getting them put back in that will cost you.
