A 2001 quarter, 1964 and a 2010 lincoln. Fishing lures, bottle caps, tea candle, pipe, bobby pin, 13/16 socket, alum can top, foil, valve stem extension, casino matchbook cover. Funny thing, the fishing lures and socket all came from the same hole. Was really fun to keep digging and finding. The last find was without the MD (no signal either).

I know this is volcanic rock, but it is COMPLETELY out of place here on the river. My first thought was meteorite but any guesses?

I had the detector set to find all and it did, and I need the practice. The 2010 penny was straight up in the hole and six inches down, just where it said it was. So hats off to my new detector too!

I started getting into gold prospecting Feb of this year because of Gold Rush and the fact I could find gold within 5 minutes of where I live. $100 start up kit later, I got some flakes :goldpan:and was totally hooked. Then I decide on a sluice. Design it and my brother in law & I build it, at least it's close to that....a real budget buster btw ($225 and climbing) but it will move 5 gallons in less than 5 minutes. Now I get my wife the $200 MD so she would have something to do while I prospect, but then I start seeing gold MD's for less than a $800 and I start going hmmmmm. ... oh yes, TOTALLY hooked!

Jeff lots of times people will dump their old gas grill rocks into the river and they will wash downstream for miles. Some of that stuff even floats . Congratulations on your hunt and hope you have many more.
