Put about 3 hrs on my new ATP today. First hr in and it was drizzling out. Gloves and equipment were Muddy. Not a very good learning environment first time with my Pro. Nonetheless, it cleared up and I picked these little guys out. Went straight into Pro mode right off the bat. Pro Zero, all metal, iron descrim 32. Seems to work well. Any suggestions to tweak settings more? 20180510_174549-1.jpg20180510_174714-1.jpg

Nice finds. I like to set my disc to 5 and listen to all the sounds, then decide which ones to dig.

Nice finds. Congrats! On your first time out with the pro..

Let's hope good beginnings lead to great things! 🙌 Nice start!

Don't be too picky, dig the iffy targets, something they are gold.

Run it wide open (no disc) and enjoy the finds! PRO ZERO ROCK AND ROLL!! Tweak the disc # later on. You have plenty of time! Enjoy!

Youre off to an excellent start. Dig everything to get an idea of what is what. The high signals area no brainer but Indians, suspended clasps and buttons can be iffy signals any they are great fun to dig. When you can afford it invest in a 5x8 coil. Really lightens up the detector and also is very quiet. The large stock coil can be noisey and you'll notice a difference switching to the 5x8. I havemt noticed any loss of depth.

Also when you get a handle on guessing targets you can try this trick, when youre getting a decent high tone but its a little iffy, back off the target till you can't hear it and ever so slowly swing short west to east til you get to the edge of the target. I'm talking right when you start picking up the signal. If its giving a iron grunt and then a high signal once your dead center on it, that iron grunt is telling you its big iron. Where as a coin or good relic will have a faint high tone that gets louder as you center on it.

Best of luck!

I'm hearing a lot about the 5x8 coil. Seems everyone swears by it. I think I'm going to be getting it soon.

Get a cors scout coil.it goes deeper and has better discrimination than stock. I just sold my at pro and I'm already sorry for it. This nox 600 I just bought can't beat the depth of my old at pro with the cors scout coil. Btw congrats on the hunt !

Never sell!

My 600 just came today but I have the pro and the max to share with friends and homeowners when I get permissions! My at pro has been used hard but has rewarded me well.

I didn't think you could add iron disc manually when it was in zero mode. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll have to try mine later today. I'm new to the AT Pro. Gary
