Hi everyone,

I decided to finally bite the bullet and try out metal detecting. I’ve been debating about this for months.

So I went to the store today, and picked up a really cheap $75 metal detector. I decided to try something cheap, to see if I would like metal detecting first before investing in expensive equipment.

After assembling it, I put it to the test and went outside to my yard. I chose my yard because my house has a lot of history to it. It was a church in the 1950s, it belonged to a school after that, and then it belonged to three other people, and now me.

I found all these.

I mainly found pieces of metal, like nails, and stuff. I did find one metal toy dated back to 2000.

I also found a 1966 dime in my garden.

Well, that’s all I found today. I’m actually really enjoying metal detecting so far.

I would say between 1 and 2 inches deep.

Thanks a bunch for the advice!

Thank you all for the welcomes to the hobby. I think I’m going to have fun.

I have a special camera I use when I record partridge hunting sessions, it attaches to my head. I think I’ll use it next time I go out and make a video showing you all how I detect so far.

Put it on YouTube and start your own channel you can make money if you get enough people watching.
