Hey all,

So last Friday I was bored and had the idea to try nickels for the first time. Results below. Don't think I did too bad? I only saved anything from 1959 and earlier.

3 - 1939
2 - 1940
3 - 1941
1 - 1941D
1 - 1941S
1 - 1942P (Silver!)
1 - 1946
1 - 1946D
1 - 1948
1 - 1948D
1 - 1954D
1 - 1956
1 - 1957D
2 - 1959D

1 - 194? (Might be 1942 non silver. No mint mark on it. Last number is damaged)

One of the 1941's might be around AU condition too.

Is the P on the 1942 above the Monticello?

I should hope so. P was never minted for Philly on a coin prior to this. If it is minted elsewhere I would love to see it!!! Might be counterfiet.

I was talking about the silver one, I wanted to make sure that you knew that only the "big mintmark" nickels were silver, as you are only a beginner nickel hunter.

Yes, it's the big P above the monument. I've found a few war nickels over the years in my change so I know what I'm looking for. :P This was just my first time actually buying a whole box of nickels to search. Normally do Dimes and Halves.
