At an old site, early 19th century.

Found my first old suspender clip. Actually excited about that. The other round thing appears to be a rosette or maybe a back to a pocket watch. Not sure. The other is some type copper/brass knob. Very heavy. And love the dark green patina.

Not suspended.... :) ...suspender.

Congrats on the nice relic recoveries! :icon_thumleft:

I like old suspender clips! As far as relics go, it's a pretty good find in my opinion because it's a very personal item. Worn as a part of clothing. It doesn't get much more personal than that. Makes me wonder though. I find lots of them in an area only known for farming or hunting as far as land use. Kinda makes ya wonder what all those suspender clips are doing out there and ok, not trying to be sexist or anything but how about the garter clips? I know lots of females worked farm land, but did they wear garters doing it? Did the hunters bring their girlfriends to the swamp to hunt?? Might not have been melons shining in the moonlight out there in that field..:laughing7:

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

I agree. I like those small old relic, as you said personal items. Some of my favorite finds are flat buttons.

There’s only the old stone foundation left at this site. Surrounded by a field, so I assume farmer, but haven’t found a lot of plow teeth yet. But I’ve also found an old railroad type of overall button on the same spot. So maybe railroad related too.

You bring up a lot of good points. Lol. I haven’t thought about the garter clips. I’ve seen some people
Find them but not as many.

My wife asked me the other day why these old timers were losing all of their stuff for me to find. Made me laugh.

The 19th C brass item is tap/spigot handle. on/off tap.

Nice. Thanks. I thought it might be tap related. I posted it on the “What is it” to help. That’s awesome. I’ve been hoping to find some tap pieces.

I found an old suspenders clip years ago, the pic should still be on this site. It is a clip with a cannon and cannon balls on it. Nice find!

Nice I bet that is neat, maybe military with the cannon? Mine is pretty plain but I still like it.

Thats a good question I mean I cant ever remember losing a button, or a Buckle, yet back then people must have lost them all the time lol Good for us though. Looks like a great spot to hunt and old too.
